[Note from Bill Moberly: In 2005 the ProLife Ministry that now is a part of ALWM International Vietnam began, as God called Dr. Nguyen Hang to serve unwed mothers and the babies they carried. Now there are 6 volunteers, over 300 babies rescued, and hundreds of lives impacted by the Grace of God! The 20th anniversary of what is known locally as “Grace House” was celebrated recently, with the following article featured in OneWay, a Vietnamese publication by what is known as Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) here in the U.S. David Tran, our Project Manager in Vietnam, created this translation to share the wonderful event with our supporters here in the U.S. (Some photos in the original translation were too low resolution to use.) 20th Anniversary of ProLife Ministry: Over 300 Children Saved!
On August 19, 2025, at Phuoc Binh Church (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), a Thanksgiving Ceremony was held, celebrating 20 years of the ProLife Ministry. A sacred and meaningful milestone, where hundreds of hearts look back on the 20-year journey of preserving fragile lives and the miraculous grace of God.

The ceremony was attended by pastors, missionaries, doctors, and all the staff who have contributed to this work – from the very beginning until today. They are the ones who have accompanied, supported, and spent their youth to protect the “seeds of life”, so that hundreds of children have the opportunity to cry when they are born.

Seeds From a Throbbing Heart
At the clinic in Phuoc Long (Thu Duc City), Dr. Nguyen Nu Hang – specializing in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine ‒ regularly meets pregnant women with many different circumstances. Many times, she has to face the hesitant eyes of mothers who are uncertain between the life and death of their fetuses.

Dr. Hang recounts: “In August 2005, I read an article in Tuoi Tre Newspaper about the abortion problem. That pain kept haunting me, tormenting me endlessly. From then on, I decided to do something ‒ to initiate the ProLife program right in my daily work.”
From a single tear, God has created a river of grace. Over the past twenty years, Dr. Hang, along with foreign missionaries, and pastors such as Pastor Truong Van Nganh, Pastor Nguyen Dinh Trung, Pastor Tran The Thien Phuoc, etc., have all worked together to cultivate a new field, not only saving fetuses that need to be born, but also opening a safe home for countless desperate mothers who thought there was no hope for their lives.

20 Years — The Children Who Were Saved
The report at the ceremony moved many people: more than 300 babies who were once rejected fetuses have now become healthy people, full of dreams.

Some of “The Saved Children” Now Sing Praise to God

Every child saved is a miracle
The staff in the Ministry are not only trained to care for the babies, but are also sent out to share the Gospel with those who come to them. Over the past 20 years, 100% of the pregnant mothers who have been counseled by the Ministry have believed in God, because in the most difficult and dark moments, they have realized that only God ‒ the loving and merciful One ‒ has enough tolerance to embrace them. Many couples, after being counseled, have chosen to keep their children, hold weddings and start a new family in God’s grace.
Today, ProLife Ministry is present in all three regions of Vietnam ‒ North, Central and South. In the South alone, there are four loving homes: District 9 Gospel House, District 8 Shelter, Phuoc Thang Shelter (Nurturing Children), and Long Thanh Shelter (Dong Nai). Each child saved is a living testimony of God’s unchanging love.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the profound testimony of Pastor David – a missionary from New Zealand, originally from Malaysia, who has been carrying on God’s work in Vietnam for over 30 years through his missionary work in Hanoi. He started with ProLife Ministries in November 2017, and to date, God has used him to teach, train and equip over 50,000 believers.
He emphasized: first of all, we need to recognize the true nature of abortion; next, we need to engage in mobilizing and equipping others through conversation, teaching and training; at the same time, we must firmly believe that God listens and will answer our prayers, joining us in the journey “saving lives”; finally, we must not only think of ourselves, but also turn to the community ‒ where God’s love is vividly expressed.

Pastor Truong Van Nganh shared the Word of God
Also, during the ceremony Pastor Truong Van Nganh ‒ Pastor of Thu Thiem Church, who has led the Ministry since its early days, shared a touching sermon with the topic: “The Saved Child”, the Word of God mentioned in Exodus 2:1-10. “Every child saved, not only from death, but also from the mother’s sin,” he stressed. “This is no small task ‒ this is a big task that God wants each of us to work on.”
From Rejected to Loved
Nguyen Thi Minh Yen, 19 years old, who was born and raised at the District 8 Orphanage, shared: “At the District 8 Orphanage, I always feel the love and care like a real family. The teachers take care of me from food, sleep to education, so that I can grow up peacefully and happily. My biological mother only visits occasionally, now she has her own family and life is very difficult… but here I have never felt a lack of love. I have just finished grade 12, and my dream is to continue studying culinary arts, which I love, so that I can be independent and repay the love that the Orphanage has given me.”
At the ceremony, attendees also listened to encouraging testimonies, including the story of a little girl named Huyen Nhiem. Her parents loved each other but got pregnant unexpectedly, so they decided to abort the child. When the doctor diagnosed the fetus with brittle bone disease ‒ easy to break, difficult to raise ‒ they did not want to give birth. However, when they came to ProLife Grace House, the mother and child were accepted and accompanied. On the day the child was born, the mother thought her child had died, but the baby was still alive. Due to pressure from the family, she still did not have the courage to accept the child.
Sometime later, the father came to visit, expressing his love for his daughter but still afraid that his family would object. With Grace House’s patient encouragement, the two finally brought the baby to the family. When the grandmother saw her small, pretty and cute granddaughter, her heart suddenly melted. From being against her, she decided to adopt her. Not only that, when she visited Grace House and witnessed the good deeds of the Christian believers, she decided to believe in God. Little Huyen Nhiem was cared for by her grandmother, but due to a congenital illness, she soon passed away after a broken bone. At the funeral, Grace House came to visit and shared about love and eternal life in Jesus. It was there that the whole family believed in Him. Little Huyen Nhiem only lived a short time, but God used her fragility to open the door of salvation for the whole family.
Hundreds of mothers, once wanted to abandon their children because of pressure, because of rejection, even tried to commit suicide. But through Grace House, those lives were saved – and grew up, becoming living proof of God’s love.
The Journey is Not Over Yet
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Hang was moved: “After finishing this 20th anniversary, I intended to retire because I was exhausted, but when singing the Hymn 895 it gave me more grace, my heart was lifted up. Because when my strength is exhausted, then God’s grace is abundant. I see that this is just the beginning. We are old, we don’t know what will happen, but please don’t abandon the Grace House children, please take care of them.”
For 20 years, ProLife Ministries has proven one thing: every life saved is a miracle. And that miracle continues because of the Creator’s love.
Thanksgiving Day – 20th Anniversary is not only a milestone to look back, but also an urgent call for today’s society: let’s protect life, let’s join hands to preserve the cries of birth, because it is a sacred gift, an inheritance bestowed by God.
